Hello, I'm Lia!

Welcome to my Website and UX Portfolio

About me.

Hi! I'm Lia. I'm an aspiring creative engineer studying Human Centered Design and Engineering with a concentration in Data Science at the University of Washington. I am also excited to integrate computer science within my design practice. It’s where my passion resides! My goal is to bring designs to life through coding.

I naturally combine the logical and algorithmic approaches of engineering with the more fluid and creative methods of design thinking. I enjoy the camaraderie and dynamics of teamwork and the challenges of designing, coding, and implementing technology products. I also don’t mind finding myself outside of my comfort zone, which is a natural result of continuous learning.

I'm actively growing my leadership skills and exploring product design and development through data science research, technology internships, and involvement with Design For America UW, where I'm the current finance officer.

A little bit more.

I love baking and cooking!

Dorm "food" inspired my love for cooking and baking. I enjoy scrolling through Pinterest hunting for recipe inspiration. I challenge myself to cook with fresh ingredients and recently have been experimenting with vegan recipes. On the other hand, I also love baking sugary, buttery treats that are enjoyed by friends and family.

I love traveling!

I joined 24 business majors and studied abroad in Ireland with UW Foster School of Business. We traveled throughout the country and explored how companies thrive in a global market. I have also trekked and kayaked in New Zealand and bicycled in the French Alps.

As a result, I am inspired to travel the world to experience its history, people, and cultures, try authentic cuisines, and seek new adventures.

I love the beach!

My favorite place on earth is the beach. One of my favorite places is the Oregon Coast. It's my happy place where I'm one with nature and at peace. I love walking, running, biking, watching the sunset, and everything else about the beach. From my perspective, it has been a good day when you have salt in your hair and sand between your toes.
